John Lewis launches exclusive menswear collaboration with Savile Row tailor clothsurgeon

  • With tailoring sales up 17% this year, the collaboration with Rav Matharu MBE, Founder and Creative Director of clothsurgeon, reflects John Lewis's investment in menswear tailoring and support for British fashion.

  • The 32 piece collection of tailoring, outerwear, knitwear, denim, jersey and accessories will be available online and in five John Lewis stores.

  • The collection extends into footwear with three exclusive styles designed for clothsurgeon by British shoemaker Grenson, available only at John Lewis.

Launching 8 October, the premium collection brings together clothsurgeon's unique blend of luxury streetwear and Savile Row expertise with John Lewis's trusted heritage to create pieces that are thoughtfully constructed and refined.

Designed as a complete capsule wardrobe, the collection spans tailoring, outerwear, knitwear, jersey, and accessories. Premium craftsmanship is the cornerstone of the collection, featuring Italian wool tailoring, luxury leather outerwear and accessories, brushed cashmere knits, Japanese selvedge denim and Portuguese jersey.

Several of clothsurgeon's bestsellers have been reinterpreted for the collection, including the brand's signature double breasted blazer and tuxedo. Trademark clothsurgeon details, such as custom buttons, tapes and linings, feature throughout the collection, seamlessly blend with John Lewis' expertise in tailoring to produce a collection of elevated essentials.

On the collection, clothsurgeon Founder and Creative Director Rav Matharu MBE says: "It's wonderful to have the opportunity to work with such a highly respected British institution as John Lewis. Our aim was to create a collection focused on contemporary tailored menswear for all occasions and settings, offering a timeless wardrobe for the modern man."

Sartorial elements are woven into every style, even the most streetwear inspired pieces, as the collection bridges both influences. From the checked bomber jacket featuring a clothsurgeon signature kidney collar guard and welt pockets, to the brushed cashmere crew knits detailed with a distinct trio of buttons, the collection is centred around an impeccable attention to detail.

Hero pieces include an Italian wool-blend tuxedo, a leather utility jacket and a cobalt blue brushed cashmere crew knit, which injects a pulse of energy through the collection. The line up is completed with accessories, including ties, a pony hair belt and in the same striking cobalt, a printed silk scarf and a baseball cap.

The collection extends into footwear with a range exclusively designed for clothsurgeon by British shoemaker Grenson, featuring a soft grain leather trainer, a Cuban heel ankle boot, and a pony hair on loafer.

Beth Pettet, John Lewis Head of Menswear Buying says: "With sales of our tailoring offering up 17% so far this year, partnering with an expert like clothsurgeon was a natural next step for John Lewis menswear. The collection is a true fusion of both brands and together we have developed a capsule that balances sophistication with a directional, street-informed attitude. It represents a wave of ‘new tailoring' that's defined by pared-back design and effortless head-to-toe styling, where knits, tees, and trainers replace the traditional shirts and ties. It has been a privilege to work so closely with Rav and his team and we are incredibly proud of the collection."

The collection will be available in five John Lewis stores and on johnlewis.com, with prices starting from £29 for ties and up to £435 for an Italian cloth wool blazer.
