John Lewis Partnership Foundation

Working towards a happier world means giving support where it’s needed most. Our Foundation is dedicated to sharing the skills and resources we have within the Partnership, focusing on the social and environmental challenges where we can have a positive impact.

Sharing our resources

We are dedicated to providing fair opportunities for people to thrive in a changing world of work through our strategic grantmaking.

Sharing our skills

We're proud of our Partners' wide range of talents and specialisms. Through voluntary secondments, we empower them to share these skills with UK registered charities, directly contributing to our mission: promoting fair opportunities for people and helping the natural world to flourish.

Our mission

Our mission

Our mission is to build the capabilities needed for the changing world of work—promoting fair opportunities for people, with a specific focus on supporting those with care experience—and helping the natural world to flourish.

Our work is delivered by granting money and by sharing the skills of our Partners (employees) with mission aligned charities and not for profit partners, focusing our resources on the social and environmental challenges where we can have the greatest impact.

Our vision

Our vision

We believe in a world where work is good for people and the planet. We strive to understand the nuances of the societal and environmental challenges facing our communities. We are committed to addressing the barriers faced by the care-experienced community, ensuring we provide the most meaningful support to create lasting and sustainable outcomes.

Our strategy

Our strategy

Our foundation is funded directly from the John Lewis Partnership – as well as with money raised by our amazing Partners, suppliers and customers. We then invest in our communities and generate opportunities via monetary donations, Partner volunteering or strategic relationships with charities. We’re driven by active engagement with each community, working together to find the best ways to have the biggest impact.

Our people

Our Trustees come from both within the John Lewis Partnership and external positions and are responsible for governance and grant making.
