Our Business

Our businesses

The John Lewis Partnership was founded on the passionate belief that there’s a better way of doing business. The idea was that we would be owned by our employees, who are called Partners, and focused on ensuring quality, value and service, while playing our part to help society.

While times have changed – with so much shopping done online as well as in store - our values remain, bringing that better way of doing business to the modern world.

We are investing in our stores to create unique shopping experiences that inspire and delight our customers: re-energising our stores and our online channels, ensuring that however our customers choose to shop with us, they have the reassurance that behind each of our products and services is a Partner who stands for trust, expertise, and a commitment to doing business the right way. Our mobile apps are designed to create a ‘Partner in your pocket’, with that same care and product curation, that you get from the brilliant Partners in our stores.

John Lewis Money brings the Partnership difference to financial services. From credit cards to insurance, travel money, international payments and loans, our Money offering is tailored to give our customers confidence in their finances – all with the same trust they expect from us in our shops. Our range of financial products seamlessly complements our retail businesses and loyalty programmes, enabling our customers to earn vouchers through purchases in our stores and their everyday spending.

Leckford Estate

Waitrose has its own farm, which is part of the Leckford Estate in Hampshire, and embodies the Waitrose principles of good food, good environmental practices and fairness. Established in 1927, our farm produces arable crops including high quality bread-making wheat, which is used to make a range of Leckford label flour, as well as oil seed rape, beef, apples, pears, apple juice and cider for Waitrose shops.

On the estate you'll also find a Farm Shop, the Longstock Park Nursery and Longstock Park Water Garden, all of which are open to the public.
