Deck the halls: The John Lewis Christmas shop has launched online

John Lewis officially opens its online Christmas shop 119 sleeps before Christmas, following a surge in early festive planning.

  • As the excitement of the World Cup final concluded, the festive spirit took hold; searches for 'Christmas' at johnlewis.com spiked immediately after the final whistle, three weeks earlier than in 2025.
  • Christmas detangled - this year we launch the Aylesford Super Pre-Lit tree with over 4,200 bulbs making it our most sparkling spruce ever.
  • Partners take center stage, immortalised as a charming collection of felt animals. From a glamorous beauty counter cat to a busy bakery hedgehog, these whimsical characters celebrate the heart of the partnership

The countdown is officially on: with 17 Fridays to go till the big day,  John Lewis has opened its online Christmas Shop. The early launch comes as festive fever hits record highs, with customer searches for 'Christmas' jumping by over 33% (WoW) immediately following the World Cup final, signaling an eager start to the season after the final whistle.

Cydney Ball, Head of Christmas at John Lewis says, "We are absolutely thrilled to officially launch our Christmas shop online. This year, we’re helping customers craft a truly magical home, from trees adorned with heirloom-inspired decorations to thoughtful, curated gifting. My personal favorite? Our enchanting collection of felt mice! Whether they are inspired by nostalgic past times, festive treats, or iconic pop culture figures, these charming characters are the perfect way to add a touch of whimsy and wonder to your tree."

With the multi-tree trend gaining momentum, this year’s expanded collection ensures there’s a perfect fit for every room, from slimline and compact options to twig styles. The Indoor/Outdoor Pre-Lit Twig Tree is a standout favorite, proving customers love adding festive touches early before they unveil their hero tree.

This season, 70% of the tree offering is pre-lit, reflecting the growing demand for effortless elegance. These trees are designed to combine convenience with exceptional longevity; by removing the frustration of tangled lights, helping customers create a lasting, high-quality centerpiece that retains its brilliance year after year. The highlight of the collection is the showstopping Aylesford Super Pre-Lit tree, the most dazzling design yet with over 4,200 bulbs which is the most lights we’ve ever had on a pre-lit tree…ideal for lighting the way for Santa's sleigh!

This season see's the return of the popular Santa's Tea Parties across a selection of John Lewis stores.  This year the Tea Parties will be more immersive and enchanting than ever before with a special storytime hosted by Santa and his elves accompanied by hot chocolate, festive treats and a special gift from Plus Plus.

Adding even more magic and fun to the festivities is a collection of six charming loveable yetis, each with their own unique character and story to tell. Every yeti is affectionately named after a word for wild or wintery weather celebrating the magic of the season with a playful twist.  The Yeti's come as a bauble to adorn your tree or as a super soft toy for children or the young at heart.

Christmas by Numbers

  • Forecasts predict that John Lewis will sell enough Christmas trees to plant a dense 25-acre forest, or blanket 12 Premier League football pitches in solid pine.
  • Lined up end-to-end, John Lewis plan to sell enough baubles to create an unbroken line stretching all the way from Central London to Paris.
  • John Lewis plans to sell enough lines of lights to create a continuous line of glowing lights stretching from London all the way to Edinburgh, Scotland - with nearly 30 miles of lights to spare!
