LABRUM Type 1 LABRUM Type 2

  • The 38 piece collection of outerwear, knitwear, denim and tailoring will be available online and in five John Lewis stores
  • The collection reflects a wider investment in Menswear at John Lewis and acts as a bold step into revitalising fashion credentials
  • The collection was designed in collaboration with Foday Dumbuya, LABRUM London founder, who was recently nominated for British Menswear Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council

Launching today, the collection blends LABRUM London’s daring design signatures with John Lewis’ seasonal staples, creating pieces that are visually exciting and rooted in quality.

The range was carefully created by LABRUM’s founder & Creative Director Foday Dumbuya, and John Lewis’ talented in-house design team and is inspired by a fusion of cultures, combining the bold patterns and vibrant textiles of West Africa with contemporary British colour and silhouettes.

LABRUM London’s Founder and Creative Director Foday Dumbuya said: “When we first met the John Lewis team in Paris last year, I was inspired by the potential to weave our two brands together. Our shared passion for storytelling, a celebration of the UK's diversity, and a love for textiles created a beautiful synergy.

At LABRUM, we believe in crafting narratives through our designs, blending West African flair with British tailoring. This collection, featuring 38 unique pieces, embodies our signature elements—like the Nomoli logo and intricate jacquard fabrics—ensuring it resonates as an authentic representation of LABRUM, reimagined through the John Lewis lens.

I can't wait to share this journey and bring LABRUM to a broader community, celebrating the rich tapestry of culture and craftsmanship!”

In LABRUM’s year billed “The Sound of Us” where cultural identity, migration, and the unifying power of music are celebrated, Bowers & Wilkins were invited to be a supporting partner within the collaboration to help bring to life the unifying force of music, elevating the importance of sound with the integration of its new Px8 S2 wireless headphones.

Modern design drives the collection, with texture, placement prints and utility details featured across the range. A traditional Autumnal palette of inky navy and warm brown is lifted with tones of mustard yellow, burnt orange and soft neutrals. Premium fabrics are used throughout including lambswool, cotton merino cashmere and leather.

The LABRUM Nomoli logo elevates seasonal staples such as an ecru baseball cardigan, knitted v-neck vest, and washed denim jeans. Detail is key; a blazer and overshirt are crafted with a bespoke jacquard inspired by the LABRUM signature cowrie shell print, alongside coconut buttons and contrast fabric panels. Silhouettes are contemporary with relaxed denim and boxy tees layered with knitwear and heavyweight outerwear. Utilitarian details like oversized pockets, laser logos and exposed stitching combine with high quality textiles for a collection that is effortless yet refined. Accessories complete the collection with logo scarves, baseball caps and beanie hats.

James Hawkes from the John Lewis design team says: “We are thrilled to introduce this exciting collaboration. Their brand ethos—crafting honest, practical clothing rooted in simplicity, fit, and a passion for detail—immediately resonated with our own values at John Lewis. We knew our customers would value LABRUM’s commitment to celebrating the rich, untold stories of West Africa through design. It was a privilege to collaborate closely with Foday and his team, we are incredibly proud of the result.”

The collection is priced between £15 for a pair of socks and £369 for a leather jacket and will be available to buy in five John Lewis stores and on johnlewis.com.
