Winner of the new series of BBC One’s Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr to design new homeware collection in collaboration with John Lewis

Today, John Lewis has announced that the winner of this year’s Interior Design Masters TV competition, which starts on 10 April, will have the opportunity to design their very own homeware collection in collaboration with the much-loved retailer’s talented, in-house design team. The exclusive collection will be sold by John Lewis online and in shops across the UK.

This is the first time the retailer has offered this prize to the winner of the series, which will see Alan Carr welcome ten novice designers looking for their big break in the world of commercial interior design. Over eight weeks, they’ll compete to win the design contract with John Lewis.

Jason Wilary-Attew, Director of Home at John Lewis, said: “We’re very excited to reveal our creative partnership with Interior Design Masters, which offers the winner the fantastic opportunity to work alongside our talented, in-house designers on their own homeware collection.

“We’re passionate about supporting new designers and can’t wait to showcase the winner's vision and bring their designs to homes nationwide.”

Design expert and former editor of Elle Decoration, Michelle Ogundehin, who is returning as the series judge, commented, “An abundance of reasons to celebrate! I could not be more pleased that Interior Design Masters will be coming back for two more series. This new partnership promises an incredible opportunity for our series six winner. I cannot wait to see their designs in stores across the UK!”

Susanne Rock, Executive Producer DSP, who produces the Interior Design Masters series, said: “We couldn’t be more delighted that this year John Lewis is offering a life-changing collaboration contract to the winner of this year’s Interior Design Masters. It is a huge prize for our 10 brilliant designers to work towards. The locations and challenges are more iconic than ever, and we are so excited to see what they will make of the spaces.’

John Lewis recently appointed a new Head of Design, David Barrett who leads their 23 strong in-house design team to create stylish home products to suit their customers’ lifestyles.
