Get ready for the ultimate fakeaway as Waitrose launches its new Urban Pizza range. Urban Pizza, which is designed to evoke the feeling of grabbing your favourite slice from a trendy urban eatery, features four pizzas, four sides and two dips - making it the perfect weekend feast.
Developed with food lovers in mind, the range features a number of current trends including a comforting carbonara pizza topped with pasta, a deep and fluffy Detroit style pizza base with all the flavour of a gourmet burger and hot honey pepperoni for a sweet and smoky flavour explosion.
Zoe Simons, Senior Development Chef at Waitrose, said: “The urban pizza scene is booming with restaurants opening all around the world, so we wanted to give our customers the same great taste and trends at home. We already have our Waitrose No.1 and Waitrose Stonebaked pizza ranges, which our customers know and love - Urban Pizza has given us the opportunity to experiment and to bring new and exciting pizza trends from the urban pizza scene to shelves.
“Designed with sharing in mind, customers will be able to pick up a whole feast to bring family and friends together for a weekend treat. The only difficulty will be deciding who gets the last slice!”

The Big Cheeseburger - Is it a pizza? Or is it a burger? Actually it’s a pizza, but it has all the great taste of a gourmet cheeseburger, on a deep and fluffy Detroit-style base. With tomato sauce, three cheeses, peppered beef, smoky bacon and a sachet of tangy burger sauce. Oh, and gherkins too, crinkle cut for extra authenticity.
The Carbonara - A 12” base with a crisp, classic crust that’s been hand stretched and stonebaked for amazing flavour. With pasta, smoky bacon and black pepper, topped with garlic bechamel, and shaved, diced mozzarella for that creamy yumminess.
The Pepperoni - The 12” base is hand stretched and stonebaked for amazing flavour. It’s then topped with our signature tomato and mascarpone sauce, mozzarella, smoky pepperoni and hot honey drizzle for a flavour fusion that’s out of this world.
The Margherita - A 12” base with a cheese crumb crust that’s been hand stretched and stonebaked for amazing flavour. Topped with our signature tomato sauce, and shaved, diced mozzarella.
Sides (£3.25 each - £2.43 on introductory offer)
The Garlic Flatbread - A super-garlicky flatbread, topped with Cheddar, mozzarella and a garlic and parsley spread. Hand-stretched for even better ‘dippability’.
Mac ‘n’ Cheese Bites - Ten melty macaroni cheese balls, made with Barber's Cheddar and a golden black pepper crumb. Serve as a side with pizza or add to a party platter with dips.
