With warmer weather on the horizon, Waitrose has revealed this year’s hottest summer food trends alongside its new range. As customers embrace the joy of impromptu celebrations due to the nation’s changeable weather, fuss-free options which are ‘good for right now’ will dominate summer menus.

We’re seeing a renewed love of classic favourites and there’s been a growing trend for the nation’s favourite British summer delicacies being served with a twist. Our new Welsh Rarebit Scotch Egg, Cumberland Picnic Eggs, Pork & Egg Gala Pie Slices, Ploughman’s Piccalilli Pie, Strawberries & Cream Ice Cream and Cornish Sea Salted Caramel Brittle Ice Cream are set to be an ideal addition to a summer's afternoon.
Borrowed Nostalgia
Throwback to past summer trips abroad is driving the trend for a borrowed nostalgia, recreating the flavours from some of our favourite holidays, but with a modern take.
