- Waitrose is the exclusive high street stockist of The Godfather sauce
- Sauce has been created to mark legendary film that was first released over 50 years ago
- Waitrose Canary Wharf recreates the famous office from The Godfather for customers
From today, Waitrose is the first and exclusive high street retailer to offer the newest addition to the iconic Heinz pasta sauce collection and one that customers can’t refuse - The Godfather Tomato Sauce (£3).
Following the viral phenomenon of the Heinz X Absolut Vodka Pasta Sauce that launched exclusively in Waitrose last year, The Godfather sauce, will be available in the majority of our shops, on Waitrose.com and Deliveroo.
This new collaboration is a replica of one of the greatest legacies left by The Godfather - the infamous tomato sauce that was created by the character Clemenza. Containing tomatoes, meatballs, onions, garlic and red wine customers can grab a taste of the iconic recipe from their own kitchens.
In addition to offering the new sauce, our Canary Wharf shop has installed a recreation of the famous office from the film itself giving customers the opportunity to take a picture as The Godfather sitting in the chair.
Oliver Chadwyck-Healey, Waitrose Branded Innovation Manager, says: “The Heinz x Absolut sauce that we exclusively launched last year was a huge success and loved by our customers, so we’re delighted to be working with Heinz once again on the launch of their latest sauce, The Godfather, which is sure to be another sell-out sensation.”
“The installation at our Canary Wharf shop is really exciting for us, and we can’t wait to see the pictures of our customers immersing themselves in The Godfather experience at Waitrose.”
