What Swifties are wearing this weekend is a hot topic but it seems they are also showing even more support for Taylor’s lover boy by cooking up a barbecue, Kansas City-style for this weekend's Super Bowl - as Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers.
Searches for barbecue marinade, barbecue ribs and sweet potatoes have all seen an increase of 200%, 76% and 75% in the past week on Waitrose.com as customers prepare for the big game. With recipe searches for sweet & smoky barbecue beans with sausages, smoky roast sweet potato wedges and our pulled pork recipe page, seeing increases of 281%, 100% and 85% respectively.
A perfectly marinated cut of meat is the star of the show when it comes to barbecue and our customers are getting creative by making their own. Sales of barbecue sauce have seen an increase of 44% compared to the same time last week and barbecue ribs being the meat of choice with searches on Waitrose.com up 76% compared to the same time last week.
