Introducing The Scandi Edit with Reena Simon.

  • John Lewis collaborates with award-winning content creator
  • Launching 20 products spanning living, dining and bedroom
  • Searches for ‘Scandi’ +40% on johnlewis.com

John Lewis has collaborated with award-winning content creator and author Reena Simon to create ‘The Scandi Edit’ for spring 2022. Reena, known on Instagram as @hygge_for_home, is one of the leading influencers to celebrate the Scandinavian interiors trend in the UK as her home and lifestyle embody the minimalist design aesthetic .

Scandi is a timeless trend with a neutral colour palette, the use of pared back woods and natural materials complements both contemporary and traditional interiors. Customers at John Lewis continue to find inspiration from this welcoming and refreshing trend, with searches for ‘scandi’ on johnlewis.com +40% compared to this time last year.

Reena has worked closely with the John Lewis in-house design team to curate her edit of 20 products spanning living, dining and bedroom, all inspired by the Scandi trend. The Scandi Edit reflects Reena’s minimalist, cosy and calming aesthetic and includes products that will have a place in your home for a lifetime.

“The piece I was most captivated by in the Spring Summer 2022 collection, and could imagine lasting a lifetime, was the Packington Side Table made from Ash and sustainably sourced from British woodlands. Pale wood is favoured in Scandinavian interiors and this piece of furniture is particularly interesting with its dark streaks known as Olive Ash. It brings out the grain in the wood making each table truly unique.”

Sustainable credentials

Sustainability, craftsmanship and circular design were at the forefront for both John Lewis and Reena when creating The Scandi Edit.

“Longevity and sustainability go hand in hand and are at the heart of the Scandi trend, reflecting why so many of us feel  drawn to it. I think that this year, we are seeking to define our homes not just in a moment in time but to create homes that can stand the test of time.”

Nature has been embraced by the John Lewis in-house design team, and this is reflected in the spring collection and is a key element in Reena’s edit. The Leckford tableware is a firm favourite.

“The collection is inspired by the gills of mushrooms from the Leckford Estate in Hampshire, farmed by the John Lewis Partnership for over 90 years. The combination of functionality and beauty within the Scandi trend paired with its neutral tones mean you can pick and choose items that can compliment a classic and traditional home or a contemporary and modern one.”

The Scandi Edit will be available to shop online and instore from 4th April. Prices range between £5 for a side plate and £549 for an armchair.
