John Lewis launches first collection with new Director of Design Queralt Ferrer

Our first collection with new Director of Design Queralt Ferrer.

  • The John Lewis & Partners collection brings a fresh perspective for Autumn / Winter 2022
  • Our first capsule collection spearheaded by new Director of Design Queralt Ferrer.
  • The new vision will span womenswear, menswear and childrenswear.

The John Lewis & Partners Design Studio developed the eponymous collection from concept through to design, with each piece being thoughtfully designed for every moment.

2022’s trend for dopamine dressing will continue throughout the winter with a collection that can boost moods in head to toe colour or bring sparks of joy with pops of brightness styled with neutrals for a softer take on the trend.  The collection is built using a foundation of four colour groups; power pink, poppy cobalt and verdant green are underpinned by calming neutrals.  Texture runs throughout with modern tweeds, boucle, knits and satins.

Queralt Ferrer, said: “The concept behind the capsule collection was to build a timeless wardrobe; creating hard working wardrobe staples in modern colours and fabrics. Each piece was designed with longevity and versatility in mind, we were thoughtful about the myriad ways our customers can wear each piece throughout the different moments of their lives.”

This season there is a return to form, as we embrace a more joyful and refined wardrobe. Remote working may still be on the agenda but this collection heralds the return of the suit and tailoring. These separates work as well together as they do individually, teamed with a cashmere knit and our classic wide leg denim. Evenings out are back and the effortless silky separates are the perfect antidote to the beloved pyjamas and loungewear of seasons past.

With value becoming more important than ever to our customers, this versatile collection is made with a commitment to using highly durable, quality materials that are made to last.

Consciously crafted, the team has focused on the highest quality sourcing of materials; using  LENZING™ ECOVERO™ (fibres used in this product are extracted from sustainable wood pulp and are produced through an environmentally responsible production fibre process), Better Cotton and recycled polyester throughout.  Certified wool has been used which supports the welfare of the animals and the land on which they graze.

Kathleen Mitchell, Commercial Director for John Lewis, said: “The starting point for our approach to fashion was a fresh look at how women live today and the desire for garments that live on for seasons to come.  The collection combines timeless and classic style, a capsule approach, thoughtful materials and longevity - all imagined through Queralt’s unique sensibility.  I believe this range shows the momentum behind our own brands and combines excellent quality and impeccable design to make the wearer feel fantastic each and every time they put them on.”

John Lewis & Partners Womenswear sits alongside and complements our other stand-alone brands; AND/OR, ANYDAY and Kin - all of which are designed by the in-house team at John Lewis. This new focus on John Lewis & Partners will be the next confident step in cementing John Lewis as a true British fashion destination.
