Waitrose begins recruitment for its Dotcom Fulfilment Centre in Coulsdon

Friday 10 October 2014

From Friday 10 October people can apply for roles at the Waitrose eCommerce grocery depot via www.jlpjobs.com. Those interested are invited to attend a recruitment open day being held on Thursday 16 October at Croydon College between 10am and 7pm.

Waitrose is recruiting for a range of roles, including Customer Delivery Drivers, Operational Support Partners and Warehouse Assistants responsible for picking.

The purpose of the recruitment day is to introduce potential candidates to the John Lewis Partnership as well as give them a better understanding what a job at our Dotcom Fulfillment Centre would look like. Candidates will have the opportunity to discuss the positions available with recruitment specialist, the Coulsdon Management team and Partners in similar roles within the business.

The first 200 positions are currently being recruited for, and once fully operational up to 500 people will be employed on the site. Key to the role of those employed at the warehouse will be carrying out Waitrose’s renowned customer service in the online environment. They will ensure Waitrose.com meets specific customer requests - such as selecting green bananas or cutting extra thick slices of ham.

Coulsdon will help to more than double the number of online grocery orders Waitrose fulfils in the capital. The purpose-built, six acre site will feature an 80,000 sq ft picking space.

Andy Kirby, Branch Manager for Coulsdon DFC, said: 'I am really excited about building the team at Coulsdon, and the opening of this fantastic new operation which is hugely important to Waitrose’s online business in the capital. I look forward to meeting people who would like to find out more about all of the job opportunities that the opening of the Waitrose Coulsdon Dotcom Fulfilment Centre will bring.'
