John Lewis appoints new Director of Design for Fashion, Queralt Ferrer

Meet our first Director of Design for Fashion, Queralt Ferrer.

  • John Lewis has appointed its first Director of Design for Fashion, Queralt Ferrer
  • It comes as we accelerate plans to expand our own-brand ranges with design that will inspire and excite customers
  • And support our ambition to be a more significant player in fashion and home

Queralt Ferrer is an experienced Global Design and Creative Director responsible for the launch of the Massimo Dutti fashion brand and leading the company’s growth over a 17 year period. More recently she was Director of Design for Marks & Spencer Womenswear and Lingerie and credited for her work in redefining the brand and collection strategy to consolidate market leadership.

The appointment will support plans to help develop and grow all of our own-brand ranges, including John Lewis & Partners and our newest own brand John Lewis ANYDAY*, which launched in April 2021. After adding fashion last September, ANYDAY now offers more than 3,600 in-house designed products across home and fashion.

Commercial Director for John Lewis, Kathleen Mitchell, said: “Queralt’s appointment underlines our ambition to further raise the profile of John Lewis design and our commitmentment to investing in our own-brand ranges. She brings outstanding expertise in world-class design that will elevate the creative energy and talent we already have within the team.”

Director of Design, Fashion, Queralt Ferrer, added: ‘I am thrilled to be joining the John Lewis team and look forward to working with the in-house design team, to lead and inspire in the creation and delivery of distinctive collections that delight our customers and achieve our ambitions.’

Notes to Editors

*ANYDAY launched in April 2021 with homeware, technology, baby care and baby clothing before the addition of fashion in September.  The range is designed in-house with style and value for everyday moments and is our most affordable to date, prices are on average 20% lower than our current own brand ranges.
