Offering the very best in quality, taste and provenance, Waitrose is expanding its No.1 confectionery range, launching 27 new confectionery lines across chocolate boxes, filled chocolate bars, truffles and nougat; tapping into the latest flavour trends to meet customer demands in taste.
Pistachio has undoubtedly become the fashionable flavour of 2024. With the Waitrose Cracking Pistachio egg proving an egg-cellent success at Easter and searches on Waitrose.com for ‘pistachio’ are up 211% compared to the same time last year, it’s fair to say this flavour trend is dominating the culinary scene. This is why we are listening to customer demand and expanding our range to include delectable pistachio flavours, along with a range of innovative filled chocolate bars. The ‘Modern-Med’ has also become a key trend that has inspired innovation in the new No.1 confectionery range at Waitrose - in particular the flavours of Spanish citrus and Valencia orange.

Blonde chocolate has also moved into the mainstream of flavour trends with ‘blonde chocolate’ growing 17% in social discussions over the past year. Sales of our No.1 Blonde Chocolate with Feuilletine & Sea Salt were up by 772%, last week when compared to the same time last year; searches for ‘blonde chocolate’ on Waitrose.com have seen an increase of 518% over the last week. Off the back of this, we have introduced five new blonde chocolate lines including, Blonde Feuillantine Truffles, Blonde Chocolate filled with Pecan Praline and The Blonde Chocolate Box for customers looking to indulge in this trending taste.
