  • Original, Chewy Caramel and Dark Chocolate Tim Tams have hit the shelves of Waitrose
  • After just two days on the shelves, social media creators have flocked to shops in search of the chocolate biscuits
  • Searches for Tim Tam on Waitrose.com increased by 202% in 24 hours

Fashion and beauty trends, creative food combinations and songs are known to go viral on TikTok but now it’s the turn of the humble chocolate biscuit. This week it was announced the Australian cult favourite, Tim Tam has arrived in Waitrose and within 24 hours, social media stars have flocked to our shops to secure a pack.

The sweet treat consists of two malted biscuits separated by a light chocolate cream filling and coated in a layer of chocolate.

Food review page @tripleeatsfood posted his trip to Waitrose, captioned ‘TIM TAMS IN THE UK!’ - in just one day, the post has racked up 158k views and over 4k likes. With Kerr McHattie commenting ‘Why was this not a public service announcement!!?’.

The demand so far has been phenomenal, with searches increasing everyday on Waitrose.com - showing the power of social media.
