Working in Partnership for a Happier World

We want to  become one of the UK’s most ethical and sustainable businesses. Watch our Partners share some of our key highlights, or read more about what we’re doing in our latest Ethics and Sustainability 2021/22 Report.

THE PARTNERSHIP PLAN

Listen to our Partners as they explain our five-year Partnership Plan.

A better way of doing business

HOW POWER IS SHARED IN THE JOHN LEWIS PARTNERSHIP

The John Lewis Partnership is a business like no other. In this short video, created for our Partners – the 81,500 employees of the Partnership, we explain why their voice is so important and how power is shared between three governing authorities.

HOW OUR TEXTILE FACTORY IS SUPPORTING THE NHS

Watch our short film from Partners at our Herbert Parkinson textile factory who share their pride in producing gowns for the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic. After the factory was shut, a team of 14 Partners returned to manufacture more than 2,000 gowns each week.

IT'S NOT OK

This summer, following commitments set out by the Partnership’s Executive Team, we created safe spaces for Black Partners to share their experiences and bring to life what discrimination feels like. This film was made by our newly formed Black Partner Advisory Group, set up as a consultative body and sounding board to test ideas and contribute to improving the experiences of Black Partners. ‘It’s not OK’ has provided a platform for Black Partners to speak up and educate. Creating space for questions and making room for conversations that now feel less uncomfortable. We continue to listen to all our Partners across the business to put inclusion at the heart of our Partner experience.

John Lewis and Partners Foundation, supporting charities worldwide

A brief look at just 4 of the incredible charities supported by the John Lewis and Partners Foundation in 2019. Focused on communities in which the John Lewis and Partners business operates, the Foundation helps the most disadvantaged to fulfil their potential through education and training. JOHN LEWIS PARTNERSHIP RAPID COVID-19 TESTING

We became one of the first UK businesses to successfully pilot lateral flow Covid-19 testing thanks to a partnership with NHS Test and Trace. Rapid Covid-19 testing was introduced initially to our national John Lewis distribution centre at Magna Park, Milton Keynes, in November, but due to the pilot’s success, was rolled out to 38 John Lewis and Waitrose locations in England.

JOHN LEWIS PARTNERSHIP MUSIC SOCIETY

Our Partners are given the unique experience to join for free, as many of our sports clubs and societies as they wish, covering everything from abseiling and skiing, to drama and photography. Our Music Society is another example and truly brings our Partnership Values to life. With 15 choirs, a jazz band, an award-winning orchestra and the UK's only in-company Musical Director, Manvinder Rattan, the Music Society works hard to contribute to the happiness of Partners in our business, while also giving back to the local communities we operate in through its music outreach programme. Watch this short film to learn more.
