'Total sales were up 11.9% on the same week last year as customers purchased new season items due to cooler weather and enjoyed shopping promotional events across Home and Fashion.
Home sales were up 13.8% as customers begin to prepare their homes for the festive season, with Christmas product up 25%. Quirky baubles such as dinosaurs are proving particularly popular, and shaped and animal baubles are currently outselling round baubles 7 to 1. Furniture and Flooring was up 7.4% and carpets were up 26%.
Fashion sales were up 13.7% as customers enjoyed shopping our fashion promotion, which started on Friday. Womenswear was up 28% and Menswear was up 25.9%, as the cooler weather saw customers buying new season products. Cashmere overall was up 48%.
Electrical and Home Technology sales were up 9.5%. Small Electricals sales were up 8.4% which was driven by Personal Care, with hair dryers proving popular as customers continued to combat the wet weather.'
