Total sales for the week were up 4.2% on last year as customers bought last minute gifts and prepared their homes for the festive period.

Fashion sales were up 7.2%. Sales were boosted by a fantastic week in Menswear, up 11.6% and also strong sales in Beauty Wellbeing and Leisure, up 8.3%. John Lewis & Partners own brand also performed well, with Kin womenswear up 45% and modern rarity up 43%.

Home sales were down 0.1% however furniture and flooring had a good week, up 5.6% and gift food saw sales up 6%.

Electrical and Home Technology sales were up 3.7%, driven by strong sales in communication technology and also mobile.
