Pick Your Own Offers for Christmas
Nearly 1 million customers sign up to money saving scheme
To help customers save in the festive season, Waitrose is adding dozens of seasonal products to its Pick Your Own Offers initiative and giving customers the chance to change their picks twice in the run-up to Christmas.
Pick Your Own Offers which launched earlier this year (June 2015) puts customers in control of their own savings. The groundbreaking scheme allows every myWaitrose member to choose which ten products from over 1,000 they'd like to save 20 per cent on every time they shop - online or in a branch.
Nearly 1 million customers have now signed up to Pick Your Own Offers, with 81 per cent of those using it regularly to save money.
From today (11 November), Waitrose will add over 100 seasonal lines to Pick Your Own Offers, including many festive store cupboard lines such as soft drinks and mixers, mince pies and stollen as well as Christmas wrap and crackers. For the first time, Waitrose will also add a selection of wine for the festive season.
In early December (9 December), Waitrose will add a further selection of fresh Christmas food to the scheme, including party food, cheeses and hams, platters, pates, meat accompaniments and seasonal seafood.
Rupert Thomas, Marketing Director, Waitrose, says: 'We want Pick Your Own Offers to be relevant to our customers and so we're adding the things that people like to stock up on for Christmas, whether that's essentials or festive treats. The idea of choosing the items you save money on really appeals to shoppers and I think that's especially the case in the run-up to the festive season.'

The Pick Your Own Offers promotion is part of the range of benefits Waitrose offers through the myWaitrose scheme which now has over 5 million members, with 70% of Waitrose sales made using a myWaitrose card.
Waitrose already offers a high number of promotions giving customers value through quality and price. This includes its Brand Price Match Scheme where Waitrose prices on more than 8000 branded grocery products are identical to Tesco's, excluding promotions. Waitrose has also lowered the price on hundreds of own label lines and increased promotional participation and depth of promotions offered.
