John Lewis announces head of branch for Birmingham flagship
John Lewis today announced that Kim Lowe will become head of branch of its new Birmingham regional flagship department store, set to open next year in the UK's second largest city.
Kim has worked at John Lewis for 30 years in a variety of customer facing roles. She started her career as a sales assistant in John Lewis Nottingham, working her way up through a number of operational roles to the present day, where she has been head of branch at John Lewis Glasgow for the last three years. In 2007, Kim became an elected director of the John Lewis Partnership Board and has served on various committees including the Glasgow Economic Leadership Commission and as a director of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
Maggie Porteous, director of selling, north and new format, said: 'Kim is perfectly placed to ensure John Lewis Birmingham delivers the excellent standards and service that our customers expect. She brings a breadth of experience as a leader and a fantastic track record of managing external relationships to this exciting and demanding role and I wish her every success.'
Kim Lowe added: 'I'm absolutely thrilled to be taking on this new challenge and look forward to establishing our regional flagship shop in the heart of the city centre and in the heart of the local community. This appointment brings me back to the Midlands where I was born and where most of my family still live.'
John Lewis Birmingham will open in the autumn of 2014 and is part of the total re-development of New Street station.
