John Lewis Brent Cross has been named 'Greenest Retailer' at the annual Brent Cross Customer Service award ceremony. In its fifth year, the awards aim to recognise the customer service offer throughout the Shopping Centre. The 'Greenest Retailer' category was introduced this year.
Jonathan Field, Managing Director, said: 'I am very pleased that our hard work has been recognised in this way. I have always had an ambition for the branch to be famous for its environmental approach and today marks an important stepping stone on that journey. Although this award is for our green policies, let us remember that Corporate Social Responsibility is not just about the environment, but about the outstanding work we do in our local communities, whether that be secondments such as the Golden Jubilee Trust, help in schools, charitable donations, or other areas. I know we will continue to play an important part here, and in our approach to sustainability.'
Tom Nathan, General Manager Brent Cross Shopping Centre, commended the branch for increasing its recycling rate to 69 per cent; for the PartnerCycle scheme; as well as for the work Partners do in the community. Tanya Wilson, Project Coordinator, added: 'I'm pleased our achievements have been recognised and I'm glad the shopping centre acknowledges that being green is an important way of life. John Lewis has, once again, set the standards.'
