John Lewis and Waitrose Partnership Card awarded top customer service award

The John Lewis and Waitrose partnership card™ has been recognised as the top UK credit card when it comes to the level of service it provides its cardholders. partnership card™ won the 'Best Achievement in Customer Service' award at The Card Awards 2009 in London, which follows a string of similar accolades over the past year.

John Lewis & Waitrose Head of Card Services, James Furse, said the win was an example of the group's dedication to putting customers first – and delivering a quality and relevant product in partnership with our colleagues at HSBC.

'This award is a ringing endorsement of the continued high standards of customer service the partnership card™ provides – not to mention the value it provides customers as a payment tool. The win reflects tremendously well on all those involved as we continue to work creatively and innovatively - successfully competing with big-name high street providers.'

The award follows partnership card™, launched in 2003, topping the most recent Which? Credit Card Customer Satisfaction Survey for the second year running, as well as being voted Which? Best Credit Card Provider in June 2008.
