Donation Policy

The Partnership favours charities local to the communities where we operate or in which Partners are personally involved.  These cover a variety of areas such as youth development and the environment.  We do not give money to individuals, religious, ethnic or political groups or third-party fundraising.  With all the donations we make, the Partnership aims to be a responsible member of the local community.

Contact Us

If you have a cause you think we could support, contact the Waitrose champion for community giving at your local Waitrose store or the John Lewis Community Liaison Coordinator at your local John Lewis branch. As we are contacted by so many organisations throughout the year, we cannot always give you a swift reply, but we will get back to you as soon as possible if we can help.

Music Matters

Music Matters is a Partnership scheme for supporting music in local communities, which we run once a year.John Lewis and Waitrose branches invite applications from local music groups of all kinds in their area.

The purpose of this initiative is to support the projects in which music is used to bring communities together. Applications run from February to March every year. To apply for the scheme please contact your local Waitrose or John Lewis shop.

Partner volunteering

Partner Involvement

The Partnership has set up a Give As You Earn scheme with Sharing the Caring, the professional fundraising arm of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). This enables Partners to make tax free donations directly from their pay to any registered charity in the UK as well as HM Revenue and Customs' recognised charitable organisations.  Partners can choose when, how and how much they donate their money to a charity or charities of their choice.

The Golden Jubilee Trust

For charities that would like to highlight a potential secondment opportunity to our Partners please download the Golden Jubilee Trust information leaflet for charities (PDF 3.5MB) for more information.  All Golden Jubilee Trust reports can be viewed in our report archive.
