As an integral part of our risk management and a key element of effective corporate governance we have a number of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committees. With a more established CSR agenda, in 2009 we developed a new governance structure to: provide strategic direction and a sound system of internal control; agree CSR policies, programmes and targets; define clear accountabilities for delivery; regularly review performance, and a report and provide assurance to the Partnership Board.
This refreshed governance structure is comprised of a Responsible Business Group supported by steering groups for the four areas of our CSR strategy: environment; marketplace (customers, products and suppliers issues); workplace; and community. All steering groups report into the Partnership Responsible Business Group, which in turn reports to the Partnership Board. Supporting the steering groups are a number of technical working groups tackling topic specific issues, for example, responsible development.
