Shoppers were out in force as the second John Lewis 'at home' shop opened its doors in Croydon, south London.
The accent of the smaller-format shop is on furniture and accessories, homeware and electronic goods, but customers can use computer terminals on the shopfloor to browse and order from the entire John Lewis range at johnlewis.com.
They can then either pick up their goods from the shop or have them delivered at home.
The 'at home' format has been bringing in the customers at Poole in Dorset since last October when the first one opened there and there are plans to open two more this autumn in Swindon and Tunbridge Wells.
